120 Plea Bargains to Be Handled in Fort Portal Prison Camp

At lease a total of120 cases are set to be concluded in a week-long prison camp at Katojo Prison.

The Camp was flagged off by Deputy Registrar Magistrates Affairs and Data Management, HW Jessica Chemeri. 

Participating in the exercise is the Fort Portal Chief Magistrate, HW Moses Nabende, who is a leading a team of Magistrates under the magisterial area.

Ms Ariong Josephine is leading a team from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Legal aid service providers as as well as advocates on state brief are taking part.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Camp, HW Nabende said the cases to be handled include Defilement, Attempted Murder, Theft, Harm, Obtaining Money by False Pretense and Domestic Violence. He added that cases involving juveniles are going to be prioritized.
